Bratislava, 28 June 2023 – SkyToll succeeded in the public procurement of the Austrian toll system and electronic vignette system operator ASFINAG for the supply of mobile camera systems for enforcing the proper payment of sticker and electronic vignettes in Austria. Based on cutting-edge technology and advanced software using artificial intelligence, the system will make it possible to identify in normal traffic whether a vehicle has a properly paid vignette – whether in electronic or sticker form.

In the first phase, SkyToll will supply ASFINAG with 25 advanced devices and related system integration services. The contract also includes an option to order up to 35 additional devices.

The system enables real-time recognition of vehicle license plate numbers, the country of registration and also identifies whether the vehicle has a vignette and its validity. The software for processing data from smart cameras is based on artificial intelligence to work with maximum precision.

The project envisages full integration of the technology and delivery of all components by July 2024.
